A voice that speaks to the soul.
This captivating artwork portrays the legendary Shawn Mullins, immersed not in the emotions of a major concert but in the music he performed for a small group of fans at a meet-and-greet before his recent show at The Red Clay Music Foundry. Shawn’s energy and passion during this short and private experience were no less than what you would expect from the stage of a packed coliseum.
Shawn was gracious to allow several photos that I used to create this montage.
I remember Irene Dodd’s guidance: “It is the process and not the product…”. She was talking about the process of artistic conception and execution.
The process, in this case, included the experience. Six feet away from Shawn with just an acoustic guitar. No amps. No microphones. “With my old guitar and my trusty grin.”.
The final product is, for me, not the point. The product is for you. The rewards of the process are mine alone.
